Pieces from a private collection
Hi, I'm the owner of Oldmine and Nextmine and occasionally I sell out of my personal collection :)
- Collecting since
- I have always been collecting. It started out with caterpillars when I was about 4, then butterflies, stones, all things pretty. Nowadays I collect old busts, orchids, and jewelry. The jewelry part started when I was in my 20's. The other girls bought fake jewelry in Zara, I bid on auctions :)
- Loves the era
- I'm very intrigued by the very old pieces from the renaissance and even earlier and also Georgian pieces but I wear mostly mid century 1900s pieces since it suits my clothing style more. I also adore the romantic beg. 1900s pieces which are just darling.
- Collects
- Not anything in particular. Just whatever speaks to my heart. I'm fortunate to see and try on so many pieces everyday and really just keep what I love (and can afford!). I do always love a colored stone, big diamond ring, diamond pendant, simple gold chain, silver bangles and hoop earrings.
- Favourite piece
- My huge Victorian sapphire ring and a silver bangle that just fits perfectly.
- Never takes off
- I take it all off! I clean all my pieces every time I have worn them to keep them clean and sparkly. They do get dull after just one day from lotion, makeup and so and we can't have that.
- Inspired by
- I was and am deeply inspired by an account on Instagram, BaronessDacre. She hasn't posted since 2018 but I still look at her account. She's a colllector and artist and I admire her ability to style all different kinds of eras and stones. It's not my personal style but she's just fascinating to me.
- Dreams of finding
- The perfect Danish Geneva necklace. I have sold the ones I had because many of my customers wanted this style. Also I want a tennis necklace. An art deco diamond bracelet, and more colored stone rings like spinel, topaz... And I would love if someone proposed to me with a big 2-3 carat diamond!
